The thing with players like Di Canio or Payet is that we wouldn’t have got them if they weren’t crazy in the coconut or a pain in the arse.
We’ll probably get similar players in the future. Geniuses that are too unstable or too much of a troublemaker for the big clubs.
You’ve got to take the rough with the smooth.

Nolan was just an uninspiring type of footballer... yes he'd notch from 5 yards out and would score 1 in 4 but as an actual footballer.... he used to bore the shit out of me... Oh don't get me wrong he was BFS's fav player... but not for me ta very much

Yep, fair point, it was. Although it went on into the evening if you stayed up there as some of us did. I remember it well only because it was one of my first overnights away - until then I'd mostly travelled back on the day of away matches. I was a young-ish whipper-snapper.
Pretty naff home support, too. Can't have been many more than 14k or 15k there.

I loved PDC - superb player and proper club legend. But, let's all face it, he wasn't beyond complete self-interest was he?!

southbank, I was in the BML that day very close to most of those penalty appeals and all were blatant cheating by the referee because of who it was that was being fouled. of course you could never prove that, but in the heat of the moment di canio was clearly saying "get me off, the referee is giving me nothing". was that clever? if course not, and redknapp rightly told him to fuck off and play on

No, Vexed, you've purposefully misinterpreted everything I've said - which you have a great habit of doing on here.
I've never once said he was among the biggest wankers to play for the club. You've just made that up.
I've said that asking to be substituted, when there is nothing wrong with you and your manager has not asked for you to leave the pitch, is not on and deserves criticism.
I've specifically said that Di Canio is not the biggest wanker to play for this club. Because I don't think that. But you just interpret those little things called words how you like...
